Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley
The Morocco student tour begins with an early departure from Marrakech, heading toward the High Atlas Mountains. The road climbs through the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, offering wide views over valleys and traditional Berber villages. Along the route, students can observe how mountain communities live and how geography shapes daily life in rural Morocco.
After crossing the mountains, the group visits the historic village of Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most famous kasbahs and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This fortified village once played an important role along the ancient caravan routes linking the Sahara with Marrakech. In the afternoon, the journey continues along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs before arriving in the scenic Dades Valley, where students spend the night surrounded by dramatic rock formations and oasis landscapes.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Sahara Desert
After breakfast, the tour continues through southern Morocco toward Todra Gorge, a spectacular canyon where cliffs rise high above a narrow river valley. Students have time to walk through the gorge and explore one of Morocco’s most impressive natural landmarks while learning about the region’s geological landscape.
Later in the afternoon, the road leads to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here students begin their desert adventure with a camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi during sunset. The journey through the dunes leads to a comfortable Merzouga luxury desert camp, where dinner is served followed by traditional Berber music under the stars.
Day 3: Sahara Discovery – Nomadic Culture – Desert Experience
The third day focuses on discovering the Sahara environment and culture. After watching the sunrise over the dunes, students explore the desert region around Merzouga and learn about the traditions of Saharan communities who live on the edge of the desert.
During the day, students discover aspects of nomadic culture, desert survival, and traditional music, including the rhythms of Gnawa heritage. Time is also dedicated to exploring the impressive Erg Chebbi dunes and discussing how desert ecosystems function. The evening offers another chance to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Sahara.
Day 4: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
The final day, the return journey begins toward Marrakech. The route passes through the vast palm groves of the Draa Valley, one of Morocco’s most important oasis regions and historically a key route for desert trade caravans.
Continuing through Ouarzazate and the Atlas Mountains, the tour offers more scenic views before arriving back in Marrakech in the evening. This marks the end of the 4 Days Morocco student tour from Marrakech to the Sahara, leaving students with unforgettable memories and a deeper understanding of Morocco’s landscapes, culture, and traditions.
