Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley
The 5 Days Morocco Student Tour begins with departure from Marrakech toward the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass where students observe traditional Berber villages and learn about mountain ecosystems and rural Moroccan life. The journey continues to the historic ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site where students discover ancient mud-brick architecture and the significance of Saharan caravan trade routes.
After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, the group travels through the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, a historic corridor connecting desert trade routes with the Atlas Mountains. Arrival in Dades Gorges in the evening for dinner and overnight, surrounded by dramatic rock formations and one of Morocco’s most impressive valley landscapes.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Sahara Desert – Merzouga Camp
After breakfast, the Morocco Student Tour continues toward Todra Gorge, where students walk beneath towering limestone cliffs and learn about geological formations, desert agriculture, and traditional irrigation systems that sustain life in southern Morocco. The canyon environment offers a natural classroom for discussing water resources and desert ecosystems.
In the afternoon, the group arrives in Merzouga on the edge of the Sahara Desert, beginning a sunset camel trek across the iconic Erg Chebbi dunes. The evening is spent at a Merzouga luxury desert camp, enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner and Berber music around the campfire beneath the desert stars.
Day 3: Sahara Discovery – Nomadic Culture – Erg Chebbi Exploration
After watching the sunrise over the dunes, students spend the day exploring the Erg Chebbi region, visiting desert villages and learning about nomadic traditions, Saharan survival strategies, and the environmental challenges facing desert communities. Cultural discussions cover traditional Gnawa music, desert trade history, and the unique ecosystems of the Sahara.
The afternoon includes panoramic viewpoints across the dunes and visits to small desert settlements, offering students a rare opportunity to engage directly with Saharan culture and landscape. The second evening at the Merzouga camp allows time to reflect on the day’s educational and cultural discoveries.
Day 4: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After a final Sahara sunrise and breakfast, the group begins the return journey to Marrakech, traveling through the historic Draa Valley — Morocco’s longest river valley — famous for its vast palm groves, ancient kasbahs, and traditional irrigation systems that once supported major Saharan trade caravans. The route continues through Ouarzazate and back across the High Atlas Mountains.
Arriving in Marrakech in the evening, students check into their hotel and rest after the desert journey. The return route through contrasting landscapes of desert, oasis, and mountain reinforces the geographic and cultural diversity explored throughout the 5 Days Morocco Desert Student Tour.
Day 5: Marrakech Discovery – Medina, Souks & Cultural Landmarks – Airport Transfer
The final day of the 5 Days Morocco Student Tour is dedicated to exploring Marrakech’s historic medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Students visit key landmarks including the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Koutoubia Mosque, gaining insights into Moroccan imperial history, Islamic architecture, and the cultural legacy of one of North Africa’s most important cities.
The morning concludes at the iconic Jemaa el-Fna square, where students experience the living cultural heritage of Marrakech through its traditional musicians, artisans, and storytellers. Following the city exploration, students are transferred to Marrakech Menara Airport, marking the end of an unforgettable 5 Days Morocco Student Tour combining desert adventure, cultural learning, and academic discovery across Morocco’s most iconic landscapes.
